On my 9.3 setup, updated recently I los three icons. They are just shown on my KDE desktop as a piece of paper. I wanted to put back the original icons and have run into following unexpected problem. Mozilla Firefox icon is not there where I thought it should be under the applications. Could not be found so I just choose some other icon. Skype icon is not found in the applications. AlsamixerGui and Xawtv4 are symlinks and when I wanted to give them their icon back I found out that both depended on a symlink to /usr/share applications and that both symlinks had to be changed ownership (booth where root root). After changing the ownership I got rid of the information that I had not enough rights to change the icons but they just do not show up. They still both have the empty paper showing. Do not know what happened with the desktop icons and hope somebody is able to point me in the right direction.
