I am running SuSE 8.0 and recently purchased a D-Link DWL-650+ (802.11b+ PCMCIA card). Has anyone had any success in getting this to work? If yes, then how so? I have tried searching google for it but can only find installation instructions for the DWL-650. Please help. --- Steve Murphy steve@smurph.net

I have mine working - sort of <g> I changed the settings back to the 7.3 values and it now works, just does not start with the machine so I have to go into Yast2, edit something ( no actual change ) and then get it to restart. So the hardware works. I believe that SUSE have implemented the same change properly because of the problems in SUSE8.0 but have not bothered to update yet - if it's working .... -- Lester Caine ----------------------------- L.S.Caine Electronic Services

The DWL-650 is in /etc/pcmcia/config as delivered with SuSE 8.0. Just plug it in! (Assuming you've installed the pcmcia package, of course!) I'm running the compact flash version DCF-650W, and I added the following to /etc/pcmcia/config to support it: card "D-Link DCF-650W" #card "Z-Com XI300 11Mb/s 802.11b WLAN Card" manfid 0xd601, 0x0002 bind "wvlan_cs" ...and I found I had to switch from 'kernel' to 'external' pcmcia support.
