English link problem... Goes to german site.
Hello, I directed a friend to get the OpenSUSE and this is what he found. I told him to go to http://www.opensuse.org. I am not sure what he clicked on but it took him to http://en.opensuse.org/Download Depending on the speed of your Internet connection, it may take several hours to download SUSE Linux. If you prefer to avoid a lengthy download process, you may purchase a copy of SUSE Linux 10.0 with printed manuals and free installation support at a retail shop, a web store, or directly from Novell. Maybe it can help him - he should check his browser settings for the "preferred languages" setting. The Novell page autoselects the language based on the Accept-Language header sent by the browser - if it contains "de", you will see the german version. (BTW: you can change the language by clicking in the page header - the displayed country and language are a link. If you do so, your preferred language will be stored in a cookie.) The opensuse.org page doesn't automatically switch the language - but it would be an enhancement if _www_.opensuse.org would redirect to the localized wiki. Most likely he has his settings to German. The site is a bit anoying. If I go to http://www.novell.com/de-de/products/suselinux/ I get redirected to http://www.novell.com/products/suselinux At the top you see left to the search at the top the country and language. Click that to change your preferences. Wether or not it works, I do not know. If it does not work, please complain at the Novell webmaster. Exactly, Novell's site serves the page in the language that your browser asks for. It then sets a cookie and uses that, if your browser allows it. In other words, nothing wrong with the openSUSE page, Peter 'Pflodo' Flodin.

That is exactly what he did. He typed www.opensuse.org and it took him to http://en.opensuse.org/Welcom_to_openSUSE.org/

I guess I have the same problem, I also tried it and I get the Novell page with United States-Deutsch. It also has edit buttons, which my friend told me he does not have. I can not seem to figure out how I have english most of the way but then I seem to be in a German forum. I do sometimes look at and read the German site. I did not think that would change things to be in combination of both languages. I prefer English but I do like to read some things in German.

That does work. I just do not understand how United States-Deutch was selected. When I want to read in German I select Germany and it defaults to Deutch. Which is what I expect. Maybe it has something to do with cookies on my machine. But he has no idea how he got United States-Deutch. I did not know you could change things up there.
