[opensuse] request for resources : architecture, security, system call, memory/IO control etc.
Hello, I've been asked to prepare a 30-40 min lecture/presentation abuout openSuSE as operating system, the lecture should focus on : - some interesting facts.. - how openSUSE (linux in general) deals with operating system functions (like IO devices, memory control) - how openSUSE (linux in general) deals with system calls, processes etc. examples! - how is openSUSE different from other linux distributions (eg. yast) , others? - why those diferences make us use openSUSE but not other linux distro - othet things which are interesting as from the view of operating system. - architecture concepts, overview.. - security it's quite important for me and i'd be greatful if You could help me, maybe by writing something, mayby by giving some hyperlinks to interesting resorces (including graphics).. I know, I know.. google you say. but i hope maybe you have in Your bookmarks something that would be very very difficult for me to find. thank You very much in advance:) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

A couple observations: 80% of your topics are Linux in general, and not related to opensuse specifically. You need much more than 30 to 40 minutes. -- ----------JSA--------- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Your topic outline is interesting. It would be easier to help if you gave us some idea of the audience for your presentation, and what you'd like their take-aways to be. Discussing file systems & IO for application developers, so they can program to it, for example, is very different from talking about how files and devices appear to GUI desktop users, so they can feel at home in a different environment. -- Jim Bullock, Rare Bird Enterprises, "Conscious Development" LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/in/rarebirdenterprises Listen to a round table of experts in these books from Dorset House: Roundtable on Project Management, http://www.dorsethouse.com/books/rpm.html Roundtable on Technical Leadership, http://www.dorsethouse.com/books/rtl.html -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
