How can I print only all odd or even pages of a document by Acroread, GV, GhostView, Xpdf on my EPSON STYLUS COLOR C60 ? How can I tell CUPS to print both front and back for each page when I use those printers that can handle that ? It looks like this is feature of Windows only ... ! Thank you very much. MEM

I know Acroread have an option in it's print dialogue to only print odd or even pages.

No, it depends if the driver in CUPS support it. Most of them do, if the printer support it. I use Gtklp to set such options. I think there is a KDE equivalent to that. It is basically command-line options that you give to the lp program. You use the "-o" option to give such printer-specific options. I'm not sure what the exact syntax is - that is why I use Gtklp. :-) HTH -- Andre Truter Software Engineer Registered Linux user #185282 ICQ #40935899 AIM: trusoftzaf http://www.trusoft.co.za ~ "Oh Bother!" said the Borg, "we assimilated the Pooh!" ~ Disclaimer and Confidentiality Warning This message is intended for the addressee only. Some of the programs you mention have options to select what pages to print. Otherwise, Have a look at the "psutils" package: Description : This archive contains some utilities for manipulating PostScript documents. Page selection and rearrangement are supported, including arrangement into signatures for booklet printing, and page merging for n-up printing. psbook rearranges pages into signatures psselect selects pages and page ranges <======== pstops performs general page rearrangement and selection psnup put multiple pages per physical sheet of paper psresize alter document paper size epsffit fits an EPSF file to a given bounding box Thus, I to print odd numbered I pages would use: psselect -o inputfile.ps outputfile.ps && lpr outputfile.ps && rm outputfile.ps -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
This is a manual operation. You can use acrobat and print the odd pages. Once you print the odd pages, you have to place it back into the printer and print the even pages. I prefer ggv myself. On Thu, 2004-05-13 at 02:59, Maura Edelweiss Monville wrote:
