When you set up an identity in kmail you need to give both a Name and an email address. Well, actually the name isn't strictly necessary, but it will appear in the From: header of your mail, so it looks nicer.
I actually have my name in the Name: box. I was trying to be "generic", maybe took it too far.:)
The error seems to suggest that you put in a name, but didn't fill in the 'email address' field.
On the same dialog there is also a field for 'Organisation', but that isn't necessary to make it work
The Organization box is in the "Edit Identity" window. I do have my email address in there. I have left "Organization" blank. Any other things to check? When I had set up the original time, I was logged into root - didn't know I shouldn't do that at the time... The same error message about the domain name. It also says the transport protocol "David Tiefenbrunn" was used. Thank you, Dave Dave Tief. N1WWY, Addie Tief. You mean in the Network setup? OK, that's not supposed to be your name, that's the name of your outgoing connection. If you have multiple mail servers you want to use, give each a descriptive name, and then you can select them from a dropdown in the mail editor. If you only have one, you don't have to give it a name, it'll just be set to 'Unnamed'

Strange. Do you perhaps have multiple identities configured, and the mail editor is using the wrong one, one where you don't have an email address setup?! Or when you say you have your email address, do you perhaps only have the first part of it, the part before the @? (like only 'davidtief', and not 'davidtief@abac.com'). You need to put the whole thing in there Aside from that, I can't think of anything
