[opensuse] NFS filesystem size
Hello, Could anyone tell me if there is any max NFS mounted filesystem size ? I'm noticing some strange DBUS bugs in Evolution and Thunderbird when the user's HOMEDIR is mounted when server exporting a 1.5TB disk/partition. The same server exporting the same HOMEDIR with a smaller disk, problems do not occur (the only variable is the size of the exported partitions) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I'm not sure if someone can support you with this description. What are the "strange DBUS bugs"? How do the file systems show up in "findmnt" and "df --o"? What is the NFS server? Another openSUSE system, a Netapp, ... ? What versions of OS, kernel, etc.? Hello,
Could anyone tell me if there is any max NFS mounted filesystem size ?
There isn't any realistic limit. Certainly not in the small terabyte range.

Check the actual filesystem on the server. You also haven't even told us what OS the server and client are running. Application versions might be useful too. Plus posting the export listing etc to demonstrate there really are no differences. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Any limits exist solely at the server. If it is a NAS then there may be a limit on the number of drive bays it has. I can't see a limit on the file system so long as you can cascade mounts. Some OS version won't allow a mount on a mount, or deeply nested mounts. YMMV The file system may put a limit on the file *size*. Not one I've hit so far - my largest is around 55TB.

Seeing those might be helpful...
The same server exporting the same HOMEDIR with a smaller disk,
Curious question - how do you do this? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
