Under what circumstances would this be used? Thanks. L x -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I would assume you'd do that when you want root to access NFS shares, which could be a security risk -- Use OpenOffice.org http://www.openoffice.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

The most common reason is diskless clients whos root filesystem is an nfs share. This smells like a homework question. -- Brian K. At the moment I have root_squash. Sometimes when users get into a mess It would be good to be able to be root on the client at which they are working and mess around with nfs shares there. Surely, if only I know the root password on the client then it's not a security risk is it? What am I missing and does anyone else use it? When you reply smells, what do you mean? Thanks. I said the question smelled like a homework assignment. But you have now convinced me it's not. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/simile -- Brian K. But that is nothing to do with what I ask is it.

Hi Brian. Hi everyone. This is not an easy list for non english speakers. And so that I am happy to convince you. Does anyone on the list use nfs and can help me? I once asked on this list if there was an alternative to nfs and I got a direct answer. l x -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
