BRAIN DAMAGE xinetd.conf defaults
defaults { ... instances=2 ... } WHY?? Another thing: service imap is not defined. After defining the imap service, the "instances=2" parameter has the worst effect possible. I wasted 2 days trying to figure out what's wrong with the imap package, and the real problem was the xinetd.conf. Of course this has generated a _lot_ of frustration. I suggest instances=150, or leave it out completely because the default is UNLIMITED. -- Silviu Marin-Caea Systems Engineer Linux/Unix http://www.genesys.ro Phone +4093-267961

defaults { ... instances=2 ... }
WHY??
It's a good secure default.
Another thing: service imap is not defined.
Reported as a bug.

I don't think I'd use a system that had defaults like that. -- -ckm
