Hi All, This morning I downloaded licq updated rpm from the SuSE site, installed the rpm and started licq. I want to register an existing uin, so I made up a password and clicked finish. Watching the network window, I see the following: 11:29:03: [UDP] Requesting logon (#949)... 11:29:13: [WRN] Timed out after 10 seconds (#949), retry 1 of 6... 11:29:23: [WRN] Timed out after 10 seconds (#949), retry 2 of 6... 11:29:33: [WRN] Timed out after 10 seconds (#949), retry 3 of 6... 11:29:43: [WRN] Timed out after 10 seconds (#949), retry 4 of 6... 11:29:53: [WRN] Timed out after 10 seconds (#949), retry 5 of 6... 11:30:03: [WRN] Timed out after 10 seconds (#949), retry 6 of 6... 11:30:13: [WRN] Timed out (#949). I am using personal firewall on this system, is that preventing a connection? What do I need to do to get licq working? If you already had a UIN and you used it, then you need to use the password that was made when you got that UIN. Below you said you "made up a password" well if it was an existing UIN then you can't just make up a password, you have to use the one that was registered with that UIN. -- David M. AFAIK, licq needs to receive both tcp and udp packets. You can configure what ports are to be used. By default the ports are between 16000 and 16255. Then it needs access to the port 4000 of the ICQ server. I dont use personal firewall, so I cant help you there. I hope this stuff is useful to you :-) Greets, Praise
