In windows this works but I still do not know how to set up this in Linux. This is the only thing I simetimes still have to use windows. I think I just have to set up something correctly, don't I? Is this some PHP "mechanism"?

I think that it's a problem related to the JavaScript implementation under Mozilla which can be incompatible with some scripts used on the web site. If it's that, there is nothing you can do by yourself to overcome the problem. It's up to the site's webmaster to check the compatibility of his scripts with various browsers.
