I got a new 40 gb hard drive and am installing Suse 8.2 along with Win98. My problem is that it boots to a GRUB command prompt instead of the GRUB splash screen. I checked all the commands by pressing the tab button as well as typing help'. Non of them seem to work . I am fairly new to this. This is the first time that has happened to me as I have installed it before with no problem. Before it asked for cd #2 after the basic installation when I rebooted, if my memory serves me correct. It didn't this time. What am I doing wrong? I booted to the cd to install it. I'm a little embarrassed by this. Try running mkinitrd, and see what it says. Maybe the splash screen is disabled. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM. I say, by the grace of God, I am what I am.
