just curious doing a little koding and I can't find a function to match a wildcard string and a normal string. I have found fnmatch and tested it but i'm not positive if it will match all strings. basically i'm looking for something that i could use to search for text (not filenames) using wildcards. i have been using fnmatch( wildcardstr, str, FNM_NOESCAPE ).
