Is anyone using netgroups on Linux? I'm having some trouble with them... First, they're not being distributed by the nis server, secondly, the local groups should go in other groups, how can this be done? (like @family should go in @guestusers)... I also want to set up NFS to use NIS (/etc/exports), but then, the netgroup file would have to be in NIS... Thanks for any help. Guy

Yes, on nearly every server.

Do you have adjust /var/yp/Makefile to build netgroups ? netgroups are disabled by default. And you need to edit /etc/nsswitch.conf on the client.

Do you mean you have a local netgroup file and a NIS version ?
