I'm not 100ure, but when I ran xf86config to setup XWindows, in the screen modes section, if you choose to change them, you are also asked if you want to make a virtual screen larger than you're current screen. I've always chosen no, but if you chose yes, then it should in theory work. It worked when I used afterstep window manager, but I haven't tried it with KDE. Yes, you need to recompile the kernel for sound support. The Kernel HOWTO is pretty good at explaining this. <<Tony>> the
