Dear all I have been making snapshots of windows using ksnapshot. The snapshots are in PNG format. Konqueror and kuickshow are unable to display these files - I get just a black/grey image. Konqueror displays the thumbnails of these images correctly. Anybody see the same problem ? Is there a fix ? One solution would be to convert the files: convert xxxxx.png xxxxx.jpg

jpg is not equivalent as it is a lossy format. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson

If you can't see 8*pngs you are missing a library somewhere.. go back to your installation disks, and search for png, making certain you have the items checked that will show you it's in a description or supplies. I don't recall exactly which library it is tho ( Oldtimers/sometimers strikes again <g>.) Pngs display just fine when you have the right libraries installed.. ;) -- j nemo me impune lacessit 'Quis custodiet ipsos custodiates?'

Had a look - all png libraries are installed libpng libpng-devel gd I installed the packages 'fly', 'gd-devel' and 'pngtoico' and now it works - this does not make sense.... IIRC it's an Apple format.

Thanks Gerhard. I was recalling the good old days, when apple users did not have access to .bmp files but had access to JPG files, and BBS sysops had to find tools to convert off of MS and over to Apple.
