[opensuse] Looking for openSUSE Account management
Hello, I am searching for an user-friendly account management solution for openSUSE and for a small company with around 15 users. For security reasons I used different passwords for different users in the past (e.g. a user has one username/password für SMTP/IMAP, one for Apache authentication, one for Samba). This isn't so critical anymore, because most services are secured by a restricted VPN (user authentication with smart card and user/password authentication) now. Unfortunately the existing solution can't be managed user-friendly and it does not scale, if the company grows: * users can not change their passwords in most services * users can not recovery their lost passwords in most services * password change and password recovery functions in one service can not be used for other services (e.g. the command line program to change Samba passwords from Microsoft can not change the Apache password) * I do not want to know the passwords for my users as Root (resetting passwords for other users should work) Here is my wishlist for the account management solution: * users can change their passwords with a user-friendly application or a web portal * users can recovery their lost passwords via e-mail (or an other alternative) * common services like Apache, Dovecot, Samba are supported * administrators can manage all accounts * support for Windows 10/Mac users and Linux servers (openSUSE, Ubuntu) * password synchronization or password caches between the Linux servers (no single point of failure) * secure passwords (e.g. no MD5 encrypted passwords), password rules and other common security features (e.g. Fail2Ban support) * commercial solutions which costs more than 1000 EUR each year are less attractive Any tips?
