Hello,
Are there any 'free' object database on linux available?
Sundar
I read sth about PostgreSQL an object relational database system. It is available under BSD license. I haven't used it by myself. http://www.postgresql.org http://www.pgsql.com greetings Felix

I have in a production environment. It is solid. Another database is MySQL, used a lot for 'simple' things, like web-logging. Both are on the SuSE cd's. Regards, Cees.
I used Postgres for my web server in production environment, it's real solid with the only setback, it's a bit slow. Dennis/sg

I am looking for Object Database(ODMS), not RDBMS.

You can store binary data in mySQL. "Sundar @local" wrote:

Take a look at mySQL. Very easy to learn and administer. http://www.mysql.com Felix Rommel wrote:

mySQL is hardly a relational db and certainly not an object oriented db. I don't think that even PostgreSQL qualifies as OO, but at least there is some kind of hooks (and talk about more) for it.
Gemstone is free for linux.
