I finally decided to move my mp3 server up to 8.0. Oh well :-( It's only an Intel 200MMX w/64 megs of RAM. Pukes booting 8.0 on floppy or CD. I take it more RAM is needed to the flagship. Such is life. /Dee -- W.D.McKinney (Dee) http://3519098920

You can switch to the second console and add a temporary swap file or manually make your swap partition and activate it, but yes 8.0 really needs 128M to install. -- -ckm

Hi, Depends on what you need for your MP3 server: 1). Non-graphical, 64 MB is fine (I run a web-server/ftp server running SuSE 8.0 on a P166MMx with 96MB Ram and it runs fine. 2). Graphical, 128 MB is recommended (my laptop that I use at work is running SuSE 8.0 on a PIII450 with 128MB Ram and it runs very well. So it all depends on what you need it to do. Remember that ISA type cards and old HDD can also affect performance. Regards Q On Thu, 2002-08-15 at 01:22, W.D.McKinney wrote:
