All I have to say is: Friggin Awesome SuSE... ...you people have just taken a giant leap forward into the Windows Desktop Arena specifically at non-technical users. SuSE 7.3 has to be one of the easiest installations that I have ever performed in my life, I rate it even easier then WinBlows. Below is the list of Hardware that I installed it on without any hitches: Compaq Presario 1600XL Laptop Pentium 3 450 128MB Ram 10GB HDD DVD Rom Accton PCMCIA LAN Card Currently Running at 1024x768 @ 24bit. NO FRAMEBUFFERS. It picked up my display card automatically and installed correctly. :) Clone PC Pentium 3 600 256 MB Ram 20 GB HDD 10 GB HDD HP 7200i CD-Writer Creative DVD Rom and DXR3 Card Voodoo 3500 AGP Lexmark Z52 (USB) MicroSnot IntelliMouse Explorer (USB) AcerView 77C Accton 10/100 LAN Card Currently running at 1280x1024 @ 24 bit with 3D Accelaration Enabled. CD-Writer working, no special tricks needed. Printer detected, no special tricks. The list goes on... ...hehehehehehe I am amazed at how easy the installations were, each one took me less then 30 minutes which is more then I can say for WinBlows. Now I know why I chose SuSE and why I am always going to choose SuSE. SuSE... ...Have a lot of fun! Q

Me too. I was having a terrible time trying to install 7.3 until I finally got enough sense to check the RAM with the memtest - one bad stick of ram. Once this was out, all smoothness and smiles. Another winner, I'd say. Those with any install problems might want to do earlier what it took me hours to think of and check their RAM ... Best to all, Fergus

I totally agree. I had some troubles upgrading to the previous versions until I noticed that whatever I put in the second memory slot will cause problems - it's just the mobo being nok there. Since I have my original 128 MB stick in the first slot and my additional 256 MB stick in the 3rd slot I don't have any further issues to encounter. Cheers .... I'd have to agree for the most part - although the Reference Manual has stuff left out that appeared in the 7.0 manual (page 49 of 7.0 - how to install from a "reachable" hard drive) - in the 7.3 manual it just says "select another installation medium"....:-( I upgraded from 7.2 to 7.3 today on the old P233 and it took 2 and a bit hours (machine's fault - it's bloody slow), but so far EVERYTHING has worked perfectly. They really did deserve the "Product of the year" award... Jon
