Hi All I'm having a bit of a problem with the printer configuration. The problem is that when I send a print job (using 'lpr /etc/passwd' ....for example) to the printer, the result is the contents of the print job is only printed in the lower-left hand corner of the paper and is displayed in 'landscape' orientation. Also the print is very small. I have a HP deskjet-520 non-color printer. If anyone has any suggestion please feel free to reply to this e-mail post. Thank you for your help in advance. How's this? If the text is small and prints two pages of text per sheet of paper, you'll need to edit the /etc/apsfilterrc file. Look for the word FEATURE=2n and change it to FEATURE=1n. luck, Mark --- Chris Parman wrote:

Happy to oblige, Chris- I went thru the same thing two days ago! Here's your salvation (and yes, this pissed me off TREMENDOUSLY): Go into /etc/apsfilterrc . Believe it or not, they documented everything right in the file! Pretty darn cool- would have been even cooler had I known to look there intitially! You'll see a config paramter about halfway thru the file that has four options. What you want, if you're like most people, is one page per sheet, no header. Change the option to the one you REALLY want, and save the file. That's it! :) Any questions, give a shout. I have a shared Windoesn't 95/Linux partition I can copy the file to and then post it here if you get stuck. Ken Schuller Network Systems Specialist NovaNET Learning, Inc.
