Looks correct, but, why did you even bother with a disklabel or a partition at all in this case? ~~~ Because the msdos disklabel has a 2TB limit and I need more than 2TB. That's not what I asked. I didn't ask why msdos disklabel doesn't work. I asked why you bothered to use _any_ disklabel or partition at all when I told you in a previous post that in this case you don't need gpt OR msdos disklabel, nor any partition within either one. just mkfs <options> /dev/sdb I'm not saying what you did was wrong exactly, just that it's an unnecessary complication. -- Brian K.
