Anyone know if the Iomega Ditto Max Pro will work under Linux. $300 for a 10 gig backup is hard to pass up.
No, unfortunately not (yet). I have this tape drive, which I bought originally for my W95 installation. It's cheap and very good, but Iomega won't release driver information so that the Linux community can make use of it. Still, other vendors have had the same attitude in the past, but changed their minds, so we can always wait'n'see... Cheers, Marc. (BTW, I think the 10Gb figure is down to software compression. 5Gb is the native capacity of the largest cartridge.) ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at <A HREF="http://www.hotmail.com</A">http://www.hotmail.com</A> - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A>
