I get those sometimes. I ignore them, but sometimes I find I have to reboot that day. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.0 x86_64 at Telcontar)

The first hit I get from typing the error message into a search engine is https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/linux-kernel-uhhuh-nmi-received-for-unknown-re... dated 2009 and it says: "This is caused when the system is hanging under load. Add any one of the following to you /boot/grub.conf file: ..." You don't say what system you're using but other hits suggest that VMs would affect things. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

You don't say what system you're using but other hits suggest that VMs would affect things. It is an old Lenovo X201 but with refurbished SSD Samsung 850. Normally however it is not hanging. It could be a sign of beginning hardware failure

Isn't if obvious? The Coyote finally got the Roadrunner leaving him "Dazed and confused". And all these years I figured it would never happen. Years ago I started getting these same messages on a build using the AMD cpu that first introduced power management. Disabling cpu power management eliminated the error messages. IIRC there was a web page somewhere that talked about needing to disable power management/cpufreq throttling in certain Intel processors, when under a heavy storage I/O load; maybe your cpu/chipset is struggling with the SSD?. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
