Hellow ,
What I want is to access my box at home from work , I suppose it´ll sound easy for you but I am quit new in communications and Linux.
My motherboard(Asus) can weak-up my box when it detects a telephone call . The idea would be : 1) make a call from my work to weak up my box at home 2) wait 1 or 2 minutes to let Linux start 3) make a call again , now my system should hang up the call , and it should allow me to login
And if it could be possible, it should be a secure conection.
... Am I asking for too much?
Thanks.

I had to smile when I read your answer to that line ;-). I cannot be of much help though. I use a modem to dial into my box for test purposes. To do this, you need to uncomment one line (reading something like modem or close to that) and give init a kick (kill -HUP 1) or reboot. After that you will get a terminal login via modem and serial port. Another way is to set up a ppp dial in. The PPP-HOWTO was so bad in that regard, that I eaven didn't care to use it for toilet paper ;-). But, there was talk it's ben rewritten and I havn't looked into that matter myself for quite a while. Anyway, enabling the modem for dialin is the first step whereever you go next. Juergen
