[opensuse] opensuse 13.2 Wifi
I can't seem to get my wifi (wireless) to work in opensuse 13.2. When I boot a Fedora 22 live cd the wifi automatically works fine. I ran hwinfo -wlan 32: PCI 300.0: 0200 Ethernet controller [Created at pci.328] Unique ID: rBUF.D3IRjcbqWwE Parent ID: 6NW+.5udqMqsQMl3 SysFS ID: /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1e.0/0000:03:00.0 SysFS BusID: 0000:03:00.0 Hardware Class: network Model: "Broadcom BCM4401-B0 100Base-TX" Vendor: pci 0x14e4 "Broadcom" Device: pci 0x170c "BCM4401-B0 100Base-TX" SubVendor: pci 0x1028 "Dell" SubDevice: pci 0x0228 Revision: 0x02 Driver: "b44" Driver Modules: "ssb", "b44" Device File: eth0 Memory Range: 0xfe5fe000-0xfe5fffff (rw,non-prefetchable) IRQ: 17 (17898 events) HW Address: 00:19:b9:85:be:e3 Link detected: yes Module Alias: "pci:v000014E4d0000170Csv00001028sd00000228bc02sc00i00" Driver Info #0: Driver Status: b44 is active Driver Activation Cmd: "modprobe b44" Config Status: cfg=no, avail=yes, need=no, active=unknown 37: PCI c00.0: 0280 Network controller [Created at pci.328] Unique ID: zb5c.huWLObTszk3 Parent ID: qTvu.HPUvhG3VrRF SysFS ID: /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1c.1/0000:0c:00.0 SysFS BusID: 0000:0c:00.0 Hardware Class: network Model: "Dell Wireless 1490 Dual Band WLAN Mini-Card" Vendor: pci 0x14e4 "Broadcom" Device: pci 0x4312 "BCM4311 802.11a/b/g" SubVendor: pci 0x1028 "Dell" SubDevice: pci 0x0007 "Wireless 1490 Dual Band WLAN Mini-Card" Revision: 0x01 Driver: "b43-pci-bridge" Driver Modules: "ssb" Memory Range: 0xfe8fc000-0xfe8fffff (rw,non-prefetchable) IRQ: 17 (17898 events) Module Alias: "pci:v000014E4d00004312sv00001028sd00000007bc02sc80i00" Driver Info #0: Driver Status: ssb is active Driver Activation Cmd: "modprobe ssb" Config Status: cfg=no, avail=yes, need=no, active=unknown Attached to: #21 (PCI bridge) I don't know what to do next. You have to tell what you have down first. Do you have a wired interface active? Are you using wicked or Network Manager? In case of wicked you can use yast to configure a wlan interface. In case of NM you can configure wlan via the NM applet. A NM configuration is not copied to a wicked configuration and vice versa. -- fr.gr. member openSUSE Freek de Kruijf -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
