-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi gang, I'm still on 8.2, but everything works (and I'm too poor to be able to help support SuSE by getting 9.1 at the moment) for me. Quick question...is anyone else who uses Yahoo mail, going in and finding the layout of the page such a mess you can't hardly do anything? I'll put a snapshot of it on my site right after I send this. I'll make it an obvious link to click on. http://personalpages.tds.net/~yochanon/ Thanks, John -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3rc2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFA0xzZH5oDXyLKXKQRAo7rAJwNmGWy0v/CgPIzE8vRtXJb1whwUACgtFsb 4JB8eJerb2ogEQXHYxr4oKc= =pcsz -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Indeed, that is a screwup. Sometimes Konqi screws up where firefox or opera don't. Already tried those two? ;) Cheers, Leen

I had the same thing with mozilla. I played around with the font settings (size and so on). Seems to have fixed it... for now. Leendert Meyer wrote:

I hadn't seen that particular page look that way for me, but the Yahoo home page puts some things in weird places much like your example. I'm no expert and I've never looked at the source coding for their pages but I suspect that there is some script that is being interpreted wrong somewhere. It the web browser handing the page, which is sort of obvious. I had this problem with Netscape and Royal Bank of Canada. It took a setting in the fonts to correct, but I can't remember what it was exactly. Mike

I stopped using Konq for that reason, it was not rendering any pages that well. I have been using Mozilla for some time now and I switched to Firefox quite a few months ago - I would not use anything else now. Check out Firefox, it's well worth it =] -Matt-

I've only been using SuSE since 9.0, which wasn't all that long ago. I know the RedHat folks take forever to release 'official' rpms for new software. How long does it generally take SuSE to release packages for major software releases like FireFox .9 or Mozilla 1.7? (I noticed Opera made a jump up to 7.51 since there was a security fix). Steve

Thanks for all the opinions. It gives me something to work with sort of now. I did write to Yahoo a couple days ago about this, and they said they knew of the problem and to give it a few days to straighten out, but nothing is changing so far. It just is lame that for 4 years Konqueror worked wonderfully and now I have to bring up a second and different browser, just to get to my mail there. I did find a page where Yahoo lists ' what it (Yahoo personel) values" and a page of 'what it doesn't value'. I told them in my mail to them that they are 'discriminating against my choice of OS, thus discriminating against me', 'following, by letting M$ lead them around by the nose' and 'status quo (answers itself)'. I knew they were full of it, but had to at least let them know they're being hypocrates if they "value" those things but don't stick to them.
