Hello everyone: I'm about to do a fresh install of SuSE 9.3. However, before I do that, I want to save my Konqueror bookmark folders. Does anyone know where SuSE hides this stuff? Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers, Mike

Not sure where Suse/KDE keeps that info, but you might try exporting bookmarks to a file. Go to Bookmarks=>edit bootmarks=>file=>export to html. Name and put the file where ever you want. -- Jim Flanagan linuxjim at jjfiii.co

Save your entire home directory. KMail mail and settings (which are in separate directories) and Konqueror bookmarks are the tip of the iceberg. This is one reason for the common advice to keep the "/home" directory on a separate file sytem which you do not touch when you reinstall or upgrade your OS.

Naturally, nothing is really hidden, but some of them reside in directories whose names start with dot, which makes them not ordinarily visible. Specifically, KMail keeps mail in $HOME/Mail and its settings are in (all relative to your home directory, $HOME): .kde/share/apps/kmail .kde/share/config/kmail.eventsrc .kde/share/config/kmailcvtrc .kde/share/config/kmailrc. Konqueror is less parsimonious in it use of configuration files: .kde/share/apps/konqueror .kde/share/apps/konqueror/konq_history .kde/share/apps/konqueror/konqueror.rc .kde/share/apps/konqsidebartng .kde/share/apps/drkonqi .kde/share/apps/konqlistview .kde/share/apps/konqiconview .kde/share/apps/kstyle/themes/original/wallpapers/konqueror .kde/share/apps/kthememanager/themes/original/wallpapers/konqueror .kde/share/config/konquerorrc .kde/share/config/konqiconviewrc .kde/share/config/konq_history .kde/share/config/konqsidebartng.rc .kde/share/config/konqlistviewrc .kde/share/config/drkonqirc
Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers, Mike
