I have just installed 9.2 on a Dell Inspiron 7000 laptop that used to run 8.2. It is old enough to not do ACPI at all but 9.2 comes with powerdaved instead of the old apmd setup. It does correctly handle suspend to RAM but with APM there was a utility to suspend until a pre-set time using apmsleep. I cannot find similar functionality with powersaved. I tried stopping powersaved and installing apmd and using that instead but in either case apmsleep always gives me an "inapproriate ioctl" error. I only used this to be able to close the lid and have it wakeup a minute later with the lid closed. Is there a way to dissable the lid button? I have the lid switch event to screen_saver but it still does a full suspend. Cosmo
