Hi everybody. === Scenario (4 machines) === Linux SuSE 8.2 as NIS master Two Linux SuSE 8.2 as NIS client Sparc Solaris 8 as NIS client === Configuration === two users: (the same on the three machines) # ypcat passwd prueba00:*Hidden*:2001:2001:NIS test user:/home/prueba00:/bin/sh prueba01:*Hidden*:2002:2001:NIS test user:/home/prueba01:/bin/sh # ypcat group nistest:x:2001: === Simptoms ==== On the two linux machines everything goes fine, the two users can login, work, share files, etc... but in the sparc the users can't log in In the linux machine, as root, # touch ./test # chown 2001:2001 ./test # ls -l --rw-r--r-- 1 prueba00 nistest 0 2003-09-29 11:58 test In the sparc machine, as root, # touch ./test # chown 2001:2001 ./test # ls -l --rw-r--r-- 1 2001 nistest 0 2003-09-29 11:59 test I've check everything from the NIS-HOWTO, The chapters 7 trough 10 from the Sys Adm Guide from solaris and, of course, do a search on Google. But nothing changed. Can somebody enlightme?
