[SLE] qt 1.44 & 2.0 together?
Hi! I was wondering if there is a way to have qt libs 1.44 and 2.0 installed on the same machine - I'd really need them both since I am a student of veterinary medicine I would really like to test-run FreeVet program and to do that I'd have to have qt 1.44 installed, but I allready have manually installed qt 2.0 which I need for qcad and such... I'd really apreciate any help on this... Well I know it's possible, because that's what I'm doing just now. I also manually installed qt 2.0, but I kept the current 1.44 libs as well. IIRC, when I compiled and installed qt 2.0, it installed into /usr/local/qt, and to 'activate' them I just had to change the environment variables listed in the HOWTO. I don't think I touched the 1.44 stuff at all, so you should be able to just reinstall the 1.44 rpms using YaST. I think. ;-) Hope that helps, Chris -- __ _ -o)/ / (_)__ __ ____ __ Chris Reeves /\\ /__/ / _ \/ // /\ \/ / ICQ# 22219005 _\_v __/_/_//_/\_,_/ /_/\_\ -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

[...] +----and here the quote ends----+ Well if I just install them by yast than QTDIR variable in /etc/SuSEconfig/profle is set to 1.44 qtdir which i dont want. So i used mc to extract just the libs and copied them to the qt2 lib dir - everything works for now - since it's just libs its ok if I needed moc or sth I would have to install and change the QTDIR variable probably (unless some configure options would be availabe). Yes, I just change variable back and forth if I ever need to use the different libs. Not that I use them that often...
