I haven't looked into this yet, just thinking out loud - what issues might there be in sharing a homedir (via NFS) between multiple versions of e.g. KDE?
We have KDE3, 4 and -5 for instance.

Don't do it. IMO itI would be catastrophic a) problems because the more recent kgpg version would convert the keys into non compatible new standard (will happen with Leap 42.2 and TW). b) kde3, kde4 and 5 having different versions of libreoffice. If you do not use exactly the same Version in all three you will face constant conversions. c) I doubt firefox, seamonkey and chromium are all the same. d) biggest and most ugly thing are the config files in .kde .kde4 etc. e) desktop backgrounds and settings are not compatible f) icons may not be cross compatible g) colorschemes may not work My advice would be: do not even thing about it. --- Alle Postfächer an einem Ort.
