Yast keeps destroying my hosts file
For some reason, when I edit hosts via Yast 2 and add alias's for hostnames (i.e multiple aliases for a single host) it stores them OK until the next time I do an online update. Then it removes the aliases. Anybody else seen this? Phil PS it's SuSE 9.0, out the box.

Try changing the following settings:- YaST --> System --> Editor for /etc/sysconfig ---> SuSEconfig ---> CHECK_ETC_HOSTS Change the value from "yes" to "no" That will stop SuSEconfig from changing the /etc/hosts file -- Regards, Graham Smith ---------------------------------------------------------
