I have the three boot disks and the network modules disk. The system loads the kernel and the correct network card, gets its IP address from the DHCP server, connects to the FTP server (I've tried several different US mirrors and the same thing happens each time), loads the boot files into a RAM disk. Then I keep receiving the very uninformative "an error occurred during installation!" message (yellow text, red box). When I go over to console 3, sometimes the last lines complain that ioctl TIOCGDEV is not known by the kernel. Other times, the last lines describe a FATAL ERROR because the system doesn't find the modules st, joydev, evdev, and edd. I rebooted, went into CMOS setup, told it to get its USB information from the OS instead of from the BIOS, tried again, and the same thing happened. I'm pretty much out of ideas but not out of frustration. I'd appreciate any help with either diagnosing, or preferably fixing, the problem(s)! (Currently using a 700MHz, 384M RAM, white-box PC with SuSE 8.2)
