SuSE 9.2 RPMs for updating X.Org to X11R6.8.2-RC1
I did: b) DRI users (driver: i810, mga, r128, radeon, tdfx) * install + update "kernel-source" package with YaST + YOU * compile and install new DRM kernel modules with pushd /usr/src/linux; rm -f .config; make cloneconfig; popd pushd /usr/src/kernel-modules/drm KERNEL_SOURCE=/usr/src/linux make modules KERNEL_SOURCE=/usr/src/linux make install popd ...and i got an error:

I did: b) DRI users (driver: i810, mga, r128, radeon, tdfx) * install + update "kernel-source" package with YaST + YOU * compile and install new DRM kernel modules with pushd /usr/src/linux; rm -f .config; make cloneconfig; popd After 'make cloneconfig' you have to do a 'make prepare_all' to create files needed further on.
WARNING: Symbol version dump /usr/src/linux-2.6.8-24.10/Module.symvers is missing, modules will have CONFIG_MODVERSIONS disabled.
And this is one of the generated files missing because you skipped prepare_all. Philipp

What did you do with all the dependencies & conflicts to install the new version? I had a few dealing with xine and xbanner, which sax2 needs, plus some others. On the errors, you do have the kernel-source files installed? You did do the necessary commands for those to work, right? cd /usr/src/linux make mrproper make cloneconfig make dep I believe that's right, although I seem to remember some things changing with the 2.6.x kernels, so have somebody here verify it before running. regards, Lee -- --- KMail v1.7.2 --- SuSE Linux Pro v9.2 --- Registered Linux User #225206 "Don't let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game!"
