I'm sure this is possible, but all I seem to find info on is changing existing keys.... All I want to do is have a function key (or combination) which would insert my e-mail address into a document, letter or web page etc. My address is quite long and tedious to keep typing out - although it has to be said it was my choice. Is this possible ? many thanks Pete -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

I am not sure if it is possible to have a key represent a whole string of text, but it should surprise me if it was not. If you want to do it in the console, you should take a look at ~/.inputrc and for X you should look at xmodmap (I think). Hope this helped.
