[opensuse] Library policy
The library policy (splitting libs) is generally a good idea but the recent supersplitup is just stupid. Now samba has no less than three packages... libtalloc1, libtdb0, libwbclient0, libsmbclient0, and that for something that's barely 100kb in size. A package itselfs costs something in terms of metadata space and processing time - and I do not see any packages with actual programs that would depend on, say, libtdb0 but not libtalloc1. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Interesting Jan, Have you posted to the samba list to see what Jerry Carter, Jeremy Allison, et. al. have to say? If your not on the list, I'll be glad to post and get there response. This is about the SUSE rpms only, it should not have anything to do with upstream's packaging methods. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
