Hi Hans, Other than the fact that it's not behaving like you want it to, this is kinda funny. It's exactly the opposite of a problem I'm trying to solve. I can't get KsCD to autostart at all for Audio CD's. But maybe you could try looking at the SuSE Hardware Tool in your tray. Right click and Configure. Disable autostart. Enabling didn't work for me but who knows... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Hans du Plooy" <hansdp@newingtoncs.co.za> To: suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: Re: [SLE] kscd autoplay Date: Mon, 3 Jan 2005 12:13:38 +0200

I stuck a cd in and up popped the kscd interface. Lower right hand corner has an option called "extras". Dropdown menu says "configure kscd". Uncheck "autoplay when cd inserted" should do the trick.
Is this what you needed? I'm using version 1.4 in Suse 9.2.
Well, that's one of the things I tried, but it still keeps popping up. I'm going to spend some time tonight trying to figure out which component of KDE detects the disc type (the same thing detects blank discs and offers to open k3b - I think it's not directly related to kscd) and see where the relevant config files is.

He he, maybe we could swap .kde directories :-)

Thanks, I'll give this a try - it's on my home PC though, will report back tomorrow. Thanks! -- Kind regards Hans du Plooy Newington Consulting Services hansdp at newingtoncs dot co dot za
