I'm connecting to freeserve in suse linux via kinternet... I've got all the proper account details, and it connects, etc. However, after dialing in, i see in the log : Starting connection. (2003-01-09 20:35:48 GMT) pppd: Plugin passwordfd.so loaded. pppd: --> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.42 pppd: --> Initializing modem. pppd: --> Sending: ATZ pppd: ATZ pppd: OK pppd: --> Sending: AT Q0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0 pppd: AT Q0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0 pppd: OK pppd: --> Sending: ATM1 pppd: ATM1 pppd: OK pppd: --> Modem initialized. pppd: --> Sending: ATDT08089933006 pppd: --> Waiting for carrier. pppd: ATDT08089933006 pppd: CONNECT 115200 pppd: --> Carrier detected. Well the problem is that it seems to take at least 5 minutes to realize there is a connection. Its very frustrating, as on windows, or rather, previously on suse, it did not take this long to connect! When its connected, i believe the following is added to the log : pppd: Script /etc/ppp/ip-up finished (pid 3746), status = 0x0 We are connected. (2003-01-09 20:38:15 GMT) What on earth is going on? Thanks for any help.
