[opensuse] PHP 5 and Apache on Suse 10
Hello, The default install of Suse 10 for Apache and PHP seems to be for PHP4. I'd like to install PHP5 for Apache with all the Apache modules linked to PHP5. If done through YAST, should I first uninstall Apache and PHP4 and reinstall with PHP5? I don't want to hose anything. Many thanks, James -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

1. remove all php4 packages.(including mod_php4) 2. add this source to yast http://ftp-1.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/repositories/server:/php/SUSE_Linux_10.0 install PHP5, this will install latest PHP5 version ( reccommended) and will not modify your apache version. have fun. All SUSE Linux 10.x versions include php5 packages. SUSE Linux 10.0 still included php4, newer versions do not. Just deinstall the php4 packages and install the php5 packages. I already pointed him to IMHO the right direction. Im pretty sure he does not want to hit all the php 5.0.x annoyances (waaaaay too many , most fixed since 5.1.2 and up) -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with SUSE - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFFlNSwerQCs1OWdf0RAoufAKDG1GnD0Mq5bQoFRBcwAcMbvT6FlgCgryCu SE8MbxSnwlEGsXb0CDzGoM0= =5uSD -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
