Check out this, it solved my problem on an Hp deskjet: http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/jsmeix_print-cups-landscape-81.html

Thanks fo the response. Please forgive this newbie question. Are you saying to update CUPS or to tell my program to filter the print through sed? If the latter, (here's the dumb question), it says to "enter the following command into the application". How do I do that? I don't see an option to enter a command to run the output through a program like sed ---Michael -- Penguins eat butterflies, don't they?

Hi Michael, Presuming you are using SuSE 8.1. The easiest way to overcome the problem is to update CUPS with the experimental version available. I have been running it for a few months without any problems. See the following URL on how to update. http://sdb.suse.de/sdb/en/html/jsmeix_print-cups-testversion-81.html -- Regards, Graham Smith ---------------------------------------------------------
It really works! On Wed, 2 Apr 2003 11:51 am, Graham Smith wrote:

Just followed the instructions, downloaded the 3 files, and rpm -Uvh cups-libs-1.1.18-0.i586.rpm \ cups-client-1.1.18-0.i586.rpm \ cups-1.1.18-0.i586.rpm An ascii postscript file that used to come out cropped to portrait (despite saying "Landscape" in the postscript) now comes out correctly in landscape. Haleluyah, thanks Graham, and praise be for communities and lists. michaelj -- Michael James michael.james@csiro.au System Administrator voice: 02 6246 5040 CSIRO Bioinformatics Facility fax: 02 6246 5166
