[SuSE Linux] My Voodoo3 2000 PCI isn't supported
I recently installed SuSE 6.1 and was so happy with it that I replaced my windows98 box with it too. I ran into a problem however when I tried to install X though. My card wasn't on the list in SaX so I read into it and found that XFree86 doesn't support 3dfx cards. I was forced to use a VGA16 server to get X to even run. It runs great and all, but I can't even see images on the web, and this 640x480 resolution doesn't even show the entire KDE panel. I would really like to have my 3Dfx Voodoo3 2000 PCI work again. It had absoluetly fabulous performance when I had Win98 and I know it could with X too. I hear that some people write servers for unsupported cards and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find one for this card, or if you just knew of a sight that posted the unsupported servers on it. Also, if their isn't one, I would gladly take suggestions for new cards that are around $150 and have as good as if not better performance. Just keep in mind that this computer doesn't have an AGP port. Any help is greatly appreciated.
