Message-ID: <3A48BB21.D57F4163@freeler.nl> Date: Tue, 26 Dec 2000 16:37:05 +0100 From: R C Leembruggen <r.c.leembruggen@freeler.nl> Subject: Linux / Lucent Modem driver I have been trying for months to get my Toshiba Satellite 2100 CDS Notebook Winmodem to work with Caldera Linux 2.4 (kernel 2-2-14) but failed every time. However after installing SuSE Linux 7.0 and downloading ltmodem-5.78c.tar.gz I now have a perfectly operating integral modem on my Toshiba. Having downloaded the file to /root all I had to do was the following:- # cd /usr/src # tar xzf /root/ltmodem-5.78c.tar.gz # make # ./ltinst2 Being rather ignorant of the Linux programming procedures apparently the point I missed before was that I had to specifically extract the tar.gz file from the /usr/src directory. Passing this on in case there a more out there like me ! Roy Leembruggen
