[opensuse] What's up with build.opensuse.org downloads? Redirect to some page - No download?
openSUSE folks, What is up with the "download" button on a buildservice page. You click download, say at: https://build.opensuse.org/package/binaries/home:MihailJP/prename/openSUSE_L... No download occurs and you are taken to the basic buildservice home page: https://build.opensuse.org/ WTF?? I know where the home repos are on download.o.o, but someone unfamiliar with how download.o.o is laid out would just be redirected to the home page without any download wondering what went wrong. I do not recall this ever happening before. As soon as the user clicks the "download" button, the file should immediately download? No? -- David C. To download directly from someone's OBS home project you have to be logged in on OBS. To download without login you have to go to the actual **repository**, therefor the package you want has to be **published**. Cheers MH Am 27.09.2020 um 20:47 schrieb David C. Rankin:

Thank you for the answer, but from openSUSE's standpoint -- does that really make any sense? Why impose a buildservice login requirement to download when you can simply download directly from the home repo? Yes, it would make sense if the package was not published, but for published packages, clicking "Download" should simply download the package and on inject an unnecessary redirect to the home page. It's a published package so why redirect at all? -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
