Hi all, I have searched the archives for a mention of this, but never found anything there. While installing SuSE 7.3, after it finishes loading the first CD, it likes to reboot. Well this machine will not do that, it just locks at the black screen with the X on it! You end up having to manually reset the machine to reboot, then the installer wants to start over either an update or install. I have tried the disableapic & apm=off settings at bootup, but it doesn't seem to help. I installed 7.2 pro in between my 7.3 attempts and it reboots the machine just fine and continues with the install. What am I missing and how do I get it to reboot nicely and continure installing? Thanks in advance. Oh yes, for those people wondering about the Radeon 8500 card working, yes it does very nicely with 7.2 or 7.3, but you need the new XFree86 files v4.2 to get the most out of it! I am not so sure I wouldn't update the kernel as well to the new 2.4.16 versions for optimum results!
