Hello all, I have been given a Dynalink v.90 USB modem. I have plugged it into my system: ( P3 866Mhz 128Mb Ram 20Gb hdd Gigabyte Motherboard GeForce Graphics ) Alas the modem setup in yast2 does not detect the modem. I have found that the device falls under "acm" device types, and have a "modprobe acm" in my boot.local to force the issue. I am no modem expert and have only used one once before - an old internal one many years ago before my SuSE installation. Any advice on getting this modem to work will be appreciated. One final note - I have a dual boot with Win98 and the modem has been tested there (dialup to my office) and does work. I would prefer to use the internet from Linux to try and curb the viruii roaming the internet. Many Thanks -Dale

[snip] Dale, My understanding of Linux USB support right now is that it does not work with USB modems or network cards. Almost everything else works fine (printers, scanners, MP3 players, cameras, keyboards, mice).
