Re: [SuSE Linux] chsh - bug??
The wierdest thing happend this morning when changing my shell. When using chsh it asked for my password, i typed in the right one (several times), but it kept refusing it. I telnetted to the machine with the same username and password --> no problem. Even than it didn't work.
Is this a known UDF or just a bug?
I've noticed a similar thing if I try to "exec login". It refuses to recognise my password. I can only login from a fresh login screen. --Marc. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at <A HREF="http://www.hotmail.com</A">http://www.hotmail.com</A> - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e

If you do `exec login' as user login can't read /etc/shadow. That's why you can't log in. Ciao, Stefan - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
