OS:opensuse10.3GM I have had problems setting up compiz. I would start over again, and uninstalled all compiz-fusion. As soon as the uninstall has taken place, windows decoration has dissappeared, and I could not move small windows around the monitor. And as no decoration, I even couldn't resize a window. I checked with a little xterm window. What can have caused the decorationproblem and the not being able to move windows around ? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Follow this guide and you should be fine: http://en.opensuse.org/Compiz_Fusion

Try running 'kwin --replace&' (kde) or metacity --replace&' (gnome) You seem to have forgotten to run 'gnome-xgl-switch --disable-xgl' before uninstalling compiz.

If you have compiz, and compiz fusion installed and not have decoration, see this section: http://en.opensuse.org/Compiz_Fusion#Plugins_and_Decorator_Configuration Cheers -J -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I'll try it in a while, but need to pause a bit now :-)

That helped, Indeed it did :-)

Yes I know from our many chat's in the IRC room the latest days here, but couldn't get it to work stable. Before I carry on, I'll read a bit more on compiz fusion

I shall have the terminal window running with the kwin --replace& to have the decoration. Else the decoration disappears. Should the command be put in a file as a script ? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Enable saving the session when you logoff, that should automatically start kwin next time you log in. -J -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
