[opensuse] Why doesn't bugzilla.opensuse.org handle its own logins?
All, This is more a curiosity and annoyance than anything else. Forever, novell.com was the authentication/bug reporting site for SuSE/openSuSE. I don't recall when that changed, but it was a couple of years ago. I had a recent bug to file against the nvidia driver and lack of sysfs interface and ended up having to mess with a 'microfocus.com' authentication site before I could log in to bugzilla.opensuse.org. Why? -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Because it is used as the report system for what was previously Novell things. All of its "things". Novell was bought by Microfocus, you surely know that. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.2 x86_64 "Malachite" at Telcontar)

sooner in this very day, I had to log and was "directed to Novell login" that worked perfectly with the new passwd so, probably, several pages uses the same underlying system jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Yes, of course the system is the same, only the domain changed because of change of ownership. It is possible that somewhere the old links remain. Possibly they are all the same machines and building. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.2 x86_64 "Malachite" at Telcontar)

Hah! Never underestimate my ignorance of things that make no difference in my life :-) Now I'm less ignorant about those things, thanks! -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.
