upgrading SuSE 8.2 to Samba 3.0 via apt
Is there a way to upgrade SuSE 8.2 to Samba 3.0 via apt? Synaptic (version 0.43.1) is showing that I have samba 2.2.7a-78 installed and is not showing anything as upgradeable. My /etc/apt/sources.list file is as follows... rpm ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/ SuSE/8.2-i386 base update kde xfree86 usr-local-bin funktronics packman packman-i686 kde3-stable security-prpm security Thanks, -=Thinker

Awesome! Thanks. I actually posted this question Monday but Novell has
everyone so distracted now.
I really hope SuSE stays true to its roots as much as it can and Novell
realizes that the power behind the company and product it just aquired is the
support and input from the users. If they don't we should simply show them the
beauty of open source software. As someone mentioned earlier, if Red Hat falls
off and SuSE falls short we still have Gentoo, Debian, and Mandrake (among
others).
